National Recreation Week takes place from 29th October to 4th November 2010 and South Dublin County Council have organised lots of free fun family events and activities. Some of these activities will be of particular interest to those with an interest in local history and heritage. On Friday 29th October from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. , Liz McEvoy of Trails and Tales will lead a guided heritage walk in the Dublin Mountains and on Saturday 30th October from 11:30 a.m to 2:15 p.m., Trails and Tales will be leading a walk through the Glenasmole Valley. On Thursday 4th November at 11:00 a.m. , local historian Tomás Maher will lead a guided walk of historic Tallaght. Again, this event is free but booking is essential. Phone Tomás on 0872179058 to secure your place.
