South Dublin Libraries, Local Studies section, have just compiled and released an alphabetical list of citations used for the award of the Irish Defence Forces Distinguished Service Medal and Military Medal for Gallantry.
The list gives a description of the individual acts of bravery and service leading to the awards of the two highest bravery and service awards in the State. Many of the award recipients are from the South County Dublin area.
